I say fun facts but no idea if they’re fun. :X It’s just some technical stuff of how maintaining this site works behind the curtains and other stuff that just came to my mind.
- Site was created around summer 2023 but at this time I had no idea I’ll start posting here Drama CD content.
- First post on the site was Ai to Makoto Drama CD.
- Site is created locally on my Linux machine in WordPress and is 100% static. That lets me run it without additional cost for hosting.
- I don’t know anything about programming so everything here is created in WordPress GUI (besides search engine, simple JS and some CSS stuff).
- Search engine was created with help from my dear friend. It’s based on Lunr.js and was needed as implementing search engine to static site is impossible from WordPress side.
- I swear there’s nothing automatic about this site, everything here is added by my hand covered in sweat.
- My profile picture (the one you can see at the sidebar and Discord) is from now discounted doujin – RJ280555.
- Default site banner is from Dear Vocalist series. I’ll be honest, I didn’t even listen to any CD from the series and I don’t even own any. This banner is here with us from the start.
- I’m only collecting here info about commercial CDs. I generally don’t collect info about CDs from labels that only publish digitally on DLsite.
- In the future I want to go from static to dynamic development but it costs money. Domain cost isn’t really big but hosting is. It also requires me to learn new stuff around databases and security (which I don’t need to care about right now).
- This site might be the second biggest English site with information about Drama CDs (first one being HIBIKIFORUM) even though there’s probably not even 20% of all published Drama CDs.
Remember that I’m working at everything here alone where HIBIKIFORUM is a wiki where many people are contributing. That just shows one thing – there isn’t enough English speaking sites about Drama CDs. -
If you want to contribute to the site, you can provide (only if missing from the site):
- high resolution covers
- tracklists (photo of physical disc where tracklist is visible)
- links to English fan translations
- fixes to mistakes that I might have made
Above are only for CDs already added to the site OR if you know that CD is only available physically and label didn’t publish tracklist on their site, blog or other socials.
